Musical Evening
Musical Evening
“Rinngg” the school went. School was finish for the day but guess what? After school at 6:00pm there is going to be ....... A MUSICAL EVENING! I was so excited! I went home and got ready. At 5:30pm there was a Sausage Sizzle before the actual event.
I went to school and I rushed into the classroom so I could get my skirt from Mrs Moodley. When I walked into class everybody looked elegant and sophisticated. Everybody was wearing black and white. Girls wore long black skirt and the white school blouse. The boys wore black long pants, long white sleeved shirts and a waist coat plus a bowtie. We took some photos before we went to the hall.
After taking photos we all lined up in our classes then we all walked into the hall in excitement. When we walked in the hall I saw families, parents and my family too. Everybody was finally settled so we could get started. Lavinia started us off with a prayer.
Class after class after class came up and performed. I really enjoyed watching the classes perform. Room 3 sand Puppet on a String and Somewhere out There. .
First they sand Puppet on a String. They looked so bright with their colourful T-Shirts. Next they sang Somewhere out There. The soloists were Ana and Rachel, they sang beautifully. Next it was our classes turn to perform.
I walked with excitement to my instrument. I was play the Mini Marimba. We were playing a Medley. I enjoyed playing in front of everyone. To entertain people Leone jumped around and clapped his hands. The Crowd went Wild.
My favourite item was the Noizy Boyz. It was a group of boys playing drums. It was superb! The crowd was just screaming at the top of their lungs.
The final act was A’leina singing but everybody sang along too. It was great to see everyone having fun. Everybody was laughing.
We weren’t quite finished for the night. We had to say goodbye to a very special person.... Mrs Koloti as it was her last week with us. She was going to have a baby girl. FAREWELL MRS KOLOTI! She sat in a chair while the Year 8 girls sang a Farewell song to her.
Then the night was over. Everyone rushed out of the hall and it was dark. It was great for everyone to share their talents. I hope that we do this again.

Cross Country
On a sunny and hot Friday afternoon the whole school got ready for..... Cross Country! I was so excited but kind of nervous at the same time. Our class (Room 6) had a shared lunch with chips, muffins, biscuits and more. I got changed then I went to the shared lunch.
The bell rang and everybody lined up in their classes and the teachers talked about what was going to happen next. We all walked in excitement to the tennis courts and lined up in our age groups.
The Juniors went first. They ran around the hall, around the church, then around the tennis courts and then sat down. The Seniors cheered loudly for the Juniors as they ran. All the Juniors ran and then it was time for the Seniors to run. The 13 year olds ran first so they were in the front then the 12 year olds, and finally it came to my turn to run. My heart was beating so fast it almost jumped out of my chest. Miss G yelled, “Get ready, set, GO!”
I jogged in the beginning and ran and ran. I took Mrs Moodley’s advice when she said to breathe in through my nose and out through my mouth. I was running with Genevieve and she already had a stitch at the beginning of the race, I told her told her to breathe in through her nose and out through her mouth, so she tried it, and it worked plus her stitch went away.
I ran and I was almost up to the finish line. I ran up the driveway into the courts and Miss G said, “Run around the courts once then sit.” So I did and I came 5th. When everybody finished their races Miss G said, “Well Done!” to all of us.
After the races Dawn and I had to go film our presentation for SPX TV but I was so exhausted I didn’t feel like going. I was so proud of myself and that I finished the race and came 5th.

Tug of War
Victory for Room 6!
Yesterday, I was lucky to watch the Paris Games Tug of War. The Room 6 team entered the event centre. The men walked into the Stadium and the crowd went Wild. The London City Police Officers were also present and there were picnics and County Fairs. There were eight men chosen for each team. To defeat their opponents team members had to pull the other team six feet from the mark to win. The two amazing teams pulled and pulled, they were sweating and the crowd just didn't stop cheering and shouting. 5 minutes to go Room 6 pulled even harder, 10 seconds left the crowd counted down from 10, the teams pulled and pulled. 3, 2, 1! In those few seconds Room 6 pulled the other team six feet. VICTORY! What a tragic loss for the other team. The crowd jumped out of their seats cheering and shouting. Everyone shouted as loud as their voices could go. Those 8 men will never forget the day they made VICTORY!
